SPEAKING ENGLISH

Everyone did excellently with their oral presentations, and I am impressed! You have a great ability to analyze, and many of you thought of the introduction and ending of your speeches. Quite a few of you even thought of asking questions to the audience.

I have also had the opportunity to listen to your recordings on where you live and would like to live in the future, and you did very well. I had a lot of fun listening and I think that it is great that you joke in a second language.

There are a few things you can think about to improve your speaking:

Remember to vary words when you speak.
Try to describe and motivate in the first part of the speaking exercise.
Try to discuss with each other in the second part.
Be descriptive!
Try to be personal.
Try to analyze the situation.
Avoid using Swedish names – because that makes speaking English harder.

When it comes to your pronunciation think of making differences between the words that start with “J” and with “Y”. Look at the following sites and pronounce these words, and then listen to their pronunciation:

JOKE
JAIL
YALE
YOUTH
THROUGH
THOROUGHLY
THAT
CHANGE
CHALLENGES
ADVANTAGE
